Income Producing Activities require YOU to be Present in your business
Are You Aware and Focused On Income Producing Activities?
Or are you busy running in 50 different directions like a chicken with its head cut off? Are you aware that some activities will not only NOT produce income, they can sabotage your business. You may even have some that are great, but they may not generate income right away!
Let me explain:
Most people, myself included when I first got started, focused too much on what everyone else was doing. The next thing I knew, a month had gone by and all of the “so called” income producing activities I was working on, didn’t bring in a dime.
I was so caught up in trying to be and do like others that I got lost along the way. I needed to do a hard STOP and realign my path/direction in order to achieve the Goals and Dreams that I had set for myself.
Yes, having some basic knowledge of the products and how the comp plan works is important. BUT… None of that is ever going to generate any income unless you begin to apply it in your business.
For a lot of us when we make the decision to join, we might have a limited amount of time because we have so many other commitments to attend to. Like a J.O.B., our families, hobbies etc. Many of us join to receive a discount on our own purchases and before you know it, you are sharing JewelScent with your family and friends allowing you to earn a part-time income or bring in additional income for the household. Especially in today’s economy.
Well, if you’re spending all your time doing Non-Income Producing Activities, you might be setting yourself up for nothing but frustration and disappointment.
Here Are My Top Three Income Producing Activities!
If you focus on these three things, 80% of the time, you will experience a lot less frustration and become successful in half the time.
1. Share Your Opportunity – Prospecting!
It’s as simple as this… If you are not talking to at least 3 people a day and sharing your opportunity, (5 or 10 once you make the decision to build a business) then where will the income come from?
2. Build New Relationships!
This goes hand in hand with prospecting. You have to build the relationship first before you can ever share your opportunity.
Get out and network, be social! Hey these days you don’t even have to leave the house to do either, although I suggest you do. There are networking groups going on all over the country in every city. Every school has activities that require parents to participate in/with. Get out and mingle with people. If you’re the type of person that shys away from socializing, then you need to break old habits and force yourself to get out.
Remember, you’re not going out there to sell anyone anything! Your job at this stage is to begin building relationships.
If time is really limited then spend an hour a day on Facebook or Google and start up some conversations with people. Friend request the interesting people who are talking business and current events. You can join different groups on Facebook, Instagram. Get connected in forums, start adding value to different conversations. People will take notice and start engaging with you more.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT just start hitting them over the head with your new business opportunity. That should be the last thing you discuss. It takes time to build honest relationships. Some will build faster than others and that’s OK. We are not in a contest with one another, so just worry about YOU and be the BEST YOU. It’s all part of the process when you are focused on Income Producing Activities for you.
ALWAYS lead with solutions OR be the solution, not your opportunity! You wouldn’t walk up to a complete stranger and ask them to marry you right? BUT if someone shares that they are in need of a gift, here is an opportunity to help them.
The Most Important thing YOU can do is… (drumroll please!)
Your fortune is in the follow-up. It’s the most overlooked step in the process, for whatever the reason is.
If YOU make the choice to not follow-up, who knows who will then get that sale. Once a customer makes the decision on what they want to buy then who gets the sale can be unimportant! This just proves that most important income producing activities ends with YOU and your follow-up!
"I would like to share with you, a story of determination and endurance. The woman in this picture is Donette Frolin, our JewelScent sister. She joined JewelScent in March of 2017, after having a stroke 4 years prior, losing mobility in half of her body and acquiring short-term memory loss. When she asked me if I thought she could sell JewelScent and shared her concerns with me about her limitations, I said I was sure she could if she wanted to. At that time, Donette was looking for a hobby to keep her mind busy and we talked about how learning something new could be a great distraction and help her exercise her memory.
I sent Donette a notebook to keep track of everything she was learning and write down the steps to access our backoffice and set up parties. She created her VIP group and set up her launch party within 2 weeks of signing up. The first couple months, I heard from Donette nearly daily. Even though, I am sure she thought she was pestering me, I was happy to know she wanted to learn and I could help her remember. In her first month of business, Donette qualified with over $400 PQV and for several months she maintained $200 - $400 PQV until her health started to go downhill again.
Due to the stroke, Donette's left leg was not getting the circulation it needed. She spent months in and out of the hospital. Then the doctors decided the best thing for her would be to amputate her leg. The last few months have not only been physically challenging for Donette, but also emotionally draining. Needless to say, her business took a backseat, but we remained in contact.
This woman has not stopped inspiring me since our very first conversation! In February this year, Donette told me she was recovering and ready to get back into her business. Her goal was to earn qualified status in March, with $100 PQV. Then she booked 2 parties and closed the month with over $300 PQV. She maintained her qualified status in April and has already qualified for May. But the most exciting news came when she posted a video of her walking with her new leg! This is the first time she has walked since October and I could not watch her video without crying.
When I told Donette how much her resilliance inspires me, her response was, "Life can be hard. Oh well, it is what it is. I am not due yet and have not begun to fight."
We can all take a lesson from Donette Frolin. Her goals are realistic for her circumstances and she is determined to reach them.... One step at a time!"

I recently sent an email out to some past customers whom I haven't heard from in a while, and these tips have helped me out!
1. The subject line - this needs to be personalized, because an email from a complete stranger is easy to overlook
2. The opening line - this needs to be about the prospect, not about you.
3. The offer - this needs to be either a brief pitch or an offer to help.
4. The close - this should be simple and not salesy
5. The signature - keep it simple; just your name, direct phone number and website URL.

- If you need to make any changes to your subscription box you will need to cancel your current subscription and resign up. Example: Address change, ring size, quantities etc...
If a customer signs up for the subscription box but then decides to become a Consultant they will also need to cancel their subscription and resign up to be able to get the Consultant discount.
- Sweepstakes- Just as a reminder, everyone who has purchased the subscription box (Consultant or Customer) is automatically entered into that month's sweepstakes. If someone is interested in entering the sweepstakes who did not subscribe for the Prize Club can mail in the postcard but there is a limit of one per household.
- Recurring Charge - If you sign up on the 31st of the month for the Prize Club and the following month does not have 31 days your recurring charge will automatically update to the 1st of the following month.
Example: Monthly recurring payments due and collected on the 31st. If the subscription terms are $25.99 USD a month and the subscriber signs up on Thursday, July 31. The subscriber is billed as follows:
Thursday, July 31 = $25.99 USD
Saturday, August 31 = $25.99 USD
Wednesday, October 1= $25.99 USD
Saturday, November 1= $25.99 USD
and so on.
Notice that no recurring monthly payment was collected in September, but recurring payments were collected roughly every 30 days.
